AERO 2011 ready for take-off: 550 exhibitors in 11 halls

AERO 2010 was a successful event and the success story continues in 2011. Major manufacturers from all sections of the general aviation industry, including companies such as Autogyro, Flight Design, Tecnam, Centurion, Eurocopter, Diamond and Shell will participate in AERO this year. The entire glider manufacturing industry will also be represented at AERO 2011. Companies such as Schleicher, Stemme and Schempp-Hirth have confirmed their participation.

The Helicopter Hangar continues to be very well received by exhibitors. Two exhibition halls will be dedicated to all aspects of rotary-wing flight in 2011. The aircraft on display in the helicopter section will range from light gyrocopters to heavy transport helicopters. Rescue helicopters will show their capabilities during a large rescue exercise on Lake Constance on Friday, April 15, 2011.

Ecological - electrical - evolutionary - that’s the motto of the E-Flight Expo to be held for the third time this year. Innovative companies will be presenting environmentally friendly aero engines, new aviation fuels and battery technologies. The highlight of the 2011 exhibition will be the awarding of the Lindbergh Electric Aircraft Prize (LEAP), which will be presented by Erik Lindbergh, the grandson of the aviator Charles Lindbergh. The prize is given for outstanding innovation in the field of electric flight.

Once again, AERO will be featuring a top-class lecture and supporting programme. AERO Conferences will host numerous e-flight and helicopter related presentations and discussions. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) will also host several talks. Once again, the German Aero Club (DAeC) will be providing ICAO language proficiency tests at AERO 2011.
