Novelties

Following a successful event in 2011, AERO Friedrichshafen 2012 promises to be a similar success. Leading manufacturers of general aviation products such as Autogyro, Tecnam, Centurion, Comco Ikarus, FK-Lightplanes and Diamond Aircraft to name but a few, will be exhibiting at AERO this year. Among the first-time exhibitors will be aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney as well as ICON Aircraft. The ICON A5 amphibious sport plane will make its European trade show debut in Friedrichshafen. A list of registered companies and aircraft is available here.

Glider special exhibition

Although some glider manufacturers, who chose to exhibit every two years, will not be present this year, aficionados of noiseless flight will get their money's worth at AERO 2012. In Hall B4, more than 1,000 square meters of space will be dedicated to a special exhibition covering all aspects of glider design and development. Exhibits include the classic Minimoa and Doppelraab as well as present-day gliders and future-oriented developments such as the Arcus E. Here visitors can cast a glance into both the past and the future.
Engines - Engine Area powered by fliegermagazin

AERO 2012 will see the launch of a new section devoted to engines for general aviation applications. The Engine Area powered by fliegermagazin will not only feature the latest engines, there will also be exhibits for the more nostalgic. More than 20 exhibitors, most of whom also have individual booths at AERO 2012, will be displaying an exhibit in the Engine Area in Hall A5. Whether it be piston, flat, diesel, electric or even turbine engine for business and light jet aircraft, a large variety of propulsion systems different in design and technology will be on show here. Experts from the exhibiting companies will be available in the Engine Area at specific times to answer your questions. As part of the AERO Conferences, a series of top-flight lectures will support the special exhibition. You can find a list of exhibitors and exhibits by clicking here.
