Friedrichshafen – Safety in the cockpit, the electrification of helicopters or the airfield infrastructure of the future: The conference program of the anniversary AERO (April 17 – 20, 2024) includes more than 270 lectures, workshops, keynotes and training courses. At the 30th edition of the world's leading trade show for General Aviation and air sports, top-class speakers will discuss new developments in the industry and current topics.
The extensive lecture program put together for AERO 2024 offers the ideal platform for exchange for anyone involved in General Aviation, air sports and business aviation. The conferences are an integral part of the trade show. Visitors get considerable added value as they can choose from more than 50 items on the agenda every day. This year there will again be a wide range of first-class lectures, workshops, presentations, industry panels and keynotes. In addition, visitors can participate in training courses, workshops and further education as part of the new AERO General Aviation Academy.
On a total of six stages, the trade fair visitors can enjoy a wide-ranging program that reflects the diversity of the entire AERO. All about gliding, for example, will be presented at the "Gliding Expo Stage" in the Zeppelin Cat Hall A1. Helicopters are the focus of the conference program in Hall B5, while Hall A2 focuses on drones. In the "Übergang Ost" exhibition area, visitors to the "Aero Career Days Stage" can look forward to many lectures on the career opportunities offered by the respective exhibitors.
There are also numerous specialist conferences: from April 16 to 17 the Hydrogen and Battery Summit offers a platform for companies, engineers, developers and trade visitors who want to promote the transition to modern drives to avoid CO2. For two days, everything will revolve around the focus topics of hydrogen and battery technology in the entire aviation industry. The latest technological developments are presented in top-class lectures and discussed in expert panels. Tickets can be booked online in advance. Catering and admission to the AERO trade fair on April 17 are included.
In addition, on April 18 the conference "Infrastructures of the Future for Airfields and Airports" in cooperation with the IDRF and DLR will deal with the necessary infrastructures on the ground where electric aircraft and fuel cell-powered aircraft will be electrically charged or refueled with hydrogen in the future. After all – apart from very few exceptions – there are hardly any infrastructures yet, for example with stationary charging units. Here, aircraft manufacturers, research institutes, airfields and trade associations provide an opportunity for intensive communication. Participation in the conference is included in admission to the trade fair. However, a free pre-registration is required via the website.
Another highlight is the new AERO General Aviation Academy. It was organized in cooperation with Herwart Goldbach, in charge of further education and training for flight instructors and will take place for the first time as part of the 30th Anniversary edition of AERO Friedrichshafen. In various formats, the GA Academy covers topics such as engine knowledge, airspace, insurance and national air defense. Anyone interested can, for example, take a drone driver's license or complete flight instructor and further training courses.
