About me

Kai-Christian Möller looks back on more than 30 years of R&D in the field of lithium batteries, starting with a doctorate in electrochemistry at the University of Münster, Germany and a postdoctoral stay at the Graz University of Technology, Austria. In 2006 he joined the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the world's leading applied research organisation operating 75 institutes and research units throughout Germany, with around 32,000 employees, predominantly scientists and engineers, and an annual research budget of roughly € 3.6 billion, € 3.1 billion of which is generated by contract research. There, he initially set up battery research groups at the two Fraunhofer Institutes ISC and ICT before becoming spokesman for the Fraunhofer Battery Alliance with its now 26 member institutes and moving in 2015 to the headquarters of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft to the management board division “Innovation, Transfer and IP Management”, where he now supports the conception of cross-institute battery projects.
