Across the aviation industry, the conversation about women in aviation has gained significant momentum in recent years. While progress is visible in many areas, women remain underrepresented across much of the sector — from recreational flying to professional aviation careers.
This Elevate(her) panel takes a closer look at where the industry stands today. Moderated by Elevate(her) Germany Lead Raja Katz, long-haul pilot and content creator, the discussion brings together different European perspectives to reflect on the current landscape for women in aviation and the changes that are shaping its future.
Joining the panel are Mélanie Astles, French aerobatic pilot and the first woman to compete in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, whose career highlights the importance of visibility and representation in aviation, and Lily Ayres, UK-based airworthiness engineer and ATPL student, bringing both technical expertise and the perspective of a new generation entering the profession.
Together, the panelists share their experiences, discuss progress and persistent barriers, and explore what meaningful change could look like for women across aviation in the years ahead.
