About me

Josef Mouris is Co-founder and CEO of ELECTRON aerospace, where he leads the development of battery-electric aircraft. His work is driven by a clear mission: to electrify short-haul aviation, starting with regional air mobility. A commercial airline pilot by training, Mouris completed his first solo flight at 15 and became a commercial pilot at 21. He went on to spend 15 years flying for Flybe, gaining extensive experience in regional operations across Europe. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he stepped back from flying to rethink the future of aviation. That reflection led to the founding of ELECTRON aerospace, with the ambition to make flying cleaner, quieter, and more accessible through practical zero-emission aircraft. Combining operational insight with a background in industrial product design, Mouris focuses on bringing electric aviation from concept to commercial reality—while contributing to a broader vision of unlocking the vast majority of airports as clean mobility and energy hubs.
