About me
Stuart began his engineering career developing superconducting magnet systems for MRI and scientific research, working extensively with liquid-helium and sub-millikelvin technologies. This multidisciplinary foundation, supported by an MSc in Physics from the University of Glasgow, equipped him to address complex, first-of-kind engineering challenges.
He later joined magniX, where he led the magni350 and magni650 design teams and delivered the electric propulsion motors that powered several landmark first flights, including those of Eviation and Universal Hydrogen. He subsequently contributed to Ampaire’s hybrid-electric programs, developing full propulsion-system simulations across multiple architectures for performance and commercial evaluation.
As CTO of Stralis, Stuart leads the development of the company’s Hydrogen-Electric Propulsion System (HEPS) and drives technology selection and integration for the markets Stralis serves.
